Donauwörth 2008 - Observation/Questions

Post by F17_114PM »

Hello,

on 7th of March, 2008, I visited Donauwörth.
Among other helicopters, I saw the following:

1) EC145 c/n 9167 Test registration D-HMBW (primer)
2) EC135 c/n ???? Test registration D-HECA Bundesministerium des Innern (full c/s)
3) EC135 c/n ???? No registration (in olive-green, no markings)

My observations/questions now:

1)
Scramble, Rotorspot and Helionline, are not mentioning D-HMBW as an ex-registration of c/n 9167, that become N467AE -> 07-72032

2)
D-HECA was in full BMI colors. But, I can not find the following BMI-registration.
According to Helionline and Rotorspot, the most promising candidate would be c/n 0688. But, this was delivered in October 2008 to Turkey as TC-HJC!
Does anybody know, if the BMI canceled an order or what really happened with D-HECA?

3)
The olive-green EC135 was parked/stored beside the wall of the main building/hangar without rotors and with something on the nose, that looked like an missile warning system. Has anybody any infos about this helicopter?

Many thanks in advance!

Regards
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
some remarks about your requests, althogh I have not seen them by myself:
1. the testreg of 9167: Congratulations with your help we can add another testreg - I think there are still many testregs missing so this is another piece in the big puzzle...

2. D-HECA BMI: I doubt if your helicopter has in fact c/n 0688. As you stated it became TC-HJC. But this was later in 2008 than march. There was another D-HECA noted in late April 2008, but this was in Austrian Police colours and later became OE-BXZ.
In my opinion the most likely candidate is c/n 0648, now flying as D-HZSP. It was the last BMI helicopter to be handed over from the first part of the order. Its testreg was stated as D-HECN but I think this could be wrong and in fact be D-HECA. It has never actually been seen as D-HECN, too! The delivery date was stated as 06-03-2008 though.
The one before was D-HZSO, handed over late february and wearing test reg D-HECR. D-HZSN had test reg D-HTSJ and was delivered 15-01-08, so normally it cannot be this one, too.

3. Sorry no clue on your anonymous olive EC.135

Hope this helps a bit
Rgds, Alex
