She was looking a whole lot better when I first saw her at Soesterberg in 1992....

It sure looks somewhat worse for wear now... But to me, it also looks like the radome is nowhere in the pictures, not even in the background... nor is the gear! Might the lack of radome not be the start of the incident, instead of the result? I remember a RAF Phantom crash at Alconbury in the eighties because the nose cone sheared off in the approach. That bird couldn't be saved, but this one seems repairable. Hopefully

In picture 3 (with the yellow bucket) the nose gear is visible but 90% is in the soft ground.

The fighter skidded off the runway and lost its radome after making an emergency landing.
In addition to the nose radome getting sheared away, the F-15C's landing gear collapsed and the drop tank under the aircraft's right wing got crushed. The jet's radar antenna was also missing.
