REQ: info Jedi Transition
Hi,
Does anybody have information about flying at the Jedi Transition?
Are there still flight limitations effective as stated in Notam M0686?
Tia.
Regards,
W.Luling

Funny meant answer?!
Seems like the mentioned NOTAM has been cancelled. But no idea if flying has resumed as normal....

Re: REQ: info Jedi Transition
Notam M0686/19 was active until nov 30th. A search on both “Jedi” and “Star wars canyon” turned up empty, so according flight rules the normal situation applies. Unless the entire route has been cancelled.
One can expect the military to remain low profile one this, so the old school spotting techniques will prevail...

Nothing. There is a lower limit above the canyon an no flights have been observed flying through.

there’s no flying through the transition. sidewinder is obviously completely utilized & the investigation into the hornet crash is still on going. there are other locations to gain low level access routes.

Other locations for the planes to go to or other places also for the photographers to go to and see them?blazesixate wrote:there’s no flying through the transition. sidewinder is obviously completely utilized & the investigation into the hornet crash is still on going. there are other locations to gain low level access routes.

There are spots further north. Great (more green) background. Unfortunately the locations are not being shared since the effort to find them was hard I hear.,I guess you must explore the wilderness. I read its a long and steep walk with a river X-ing.

Visited Star Wars Canyon today (11-3) it’s been actively used again.
Over the course of 4 hours I was there, 5 Super Hornets flew through it.

But did they use the transition?

Re: REQ: info Jedi Transition
At what level did they fly through?
And always confused about the names indeed, but did they fly the part where the hornet crashed?
Or better, can you tell at what location you saw them?
Thanks!

Re: REQ: info Jedi Transition
I was at Father Crowley.
2 hornets came in from, let’s call it the left side, dipping into the canyon but staying above the middle of the canyon.
Another one came in from the right side - from direction desert. He was near the bottom of the canyon and banked right at Father Crowley, turned back and came back directly over Father Crowley straight through the canyon to the desert.
The last 2 came from the desert low in the canyon and banked right at Father Crowley.
