Congress announced a deal for FY2020 (lot 14 I think) that includes a whopping 98 F-35s for the US DoD.
62 F-35A for the USAF (Congress added 14 to the original 48)
36 F-35B/C for the USMC and USN (originally 10 B, 10 C USMC and 10 C USN, I do not know if the 6 extra are all C for the USN/USMC or that it includes a few B models for the USMC and a few C models).

Japan Cabinet approves record defense budget for coming year
December 20, 2019

Japan's Cabinet approved a record defense budget Friday that includes a number of American stealth fighter jets as well as funding to research potentially developing its own fighter jet program.

Among the most costly purchases in the draft are Lockheed Martin Corp.'s F-35 stealth fighters. Under the 2020 budget plan, Japan is to buy six F-35B stealth fighter jets capable of short takeoff and vertical landing at a cost of 79.3 billion yen ($725 million).

Those six are the first of 42 F-35Bs Japan plans to acquire in coming years.

Do you have more information on this? It would be the first serial in the 5000 range that is not assigned to an F-35A (or F-35I) since FY 2009.
