Apparently a Hornet ground aborted in the morning because of a deer or hare on the runway, apparently.Trabanti wrote:Any reason given? Something happened yesterday? Otherwise they would have left before the weekend I guess..
The jet did fly again in the afternoon, it seems.

Vier Zwitserse Hornets nemen op dit moment deel aan de oefening Frisian Flag op Leeuwarden,
waardoor het aantal inzetbare Hornets in Zwitserland zeer beperkt is.

Re: EHLW 09-04-2019
Nothing particular happened (apart from the deer on the runway, happens more often at Leeuwarden). In the dedicated Frisian Flag topic this has already been discussed. The Swiss currently only have 10 operational Hornets. With 4 at Leeuwarden and the new fighter selection process (fly-off) to start, they have decided to cut short their stay at FF because they need the birds (and probably the crews as well) at home. No more, no less.Trabanti wrote:Any reason given? Something happened yesterday? Otherwise they would have left before the weekend I guess..

Yes, it did. All four Hornets flew in the afternoon.Stratofreighter wrote: Apparently a Hornet ground aborted in the morning because of a deer or hare on the runway, apparently.

And that low number of jets wasn't to be foreseen in advance ...
Guess no significant effect on remainder of FF ?

nope, has to do with unexpected components inside the aircraft. They came across this problem during a life time extension program.K-9 wrote:And that low number of jets wasn't to be foreseen in advance ...

Yes significant effect, FF might be canceled is the discussion, unless replacement aircraft are coming (is the word at the moment).

Re: EHLW 09-04-2019
List of this morning. Can anyone shed some light on the BEAST flight? I have them departing and arriving in a different order, but I am pretty sure I heard the threeship arriving as BEAST06.

Yes significant effect, FF might be canceled is the discussion, unless replacement aircraft are coming (is the word at the moment).
