Kenan Sofuoğlu motoruyla SOLOTÜRK F16 uçağına meydan okudu.
Rüzgar hızındaki yarışın galibi Sofuoğlu oldu.

The race was organized as a part of the aviation, space and technology event called Teknofest,
held at the new Istanbul International Airport.

The race gave us the answer to that question we had in our minds all these years,
what happens when cars, bikes, and planes race each other.

For a brief moment, the formula one racer gained lead due it's lightweight body and sticky tires.
But that soon changed when the Kawasaki H2R opened up the taps.

The front tire slightly raised off the ground,
marking the monstrosity of its four-cylinder supercharged engine.

The superbike dominated the rest of the race,
with the F1 car closely on its tail.

Since the power to weight ratio of the Kawasaki is very high,
the superbike dominates over short stretches.

Slekke is een van de bekendste – al is dat een relatief begrip –
liedjes van de Kortrijkse volkszanger Johny Turbo ofte Ivan Carlier.

Heeft u 50.000 euro geïnvesteerd in een Kawasaki Ninja H2R,
dan is de kans groot dat u voortaan
op café met Johny Turbo aangesproken wordt.

Maar weet dan dat ze daarmee uit jaloezie u meer ‘een johny’

326 pk en 165 Nm,
aangevuld met 170 decibel aan geluid en een topsnelheid van

de Kawasaki Ninja H2R hangt gewoon aan elkaar met superlatieven.

De Kawasaki-ingenieurs linkten een compleet nieuw ontwikkelde duizend cc viercilinder motorblok
aan een supercharger die met de motor tegen de begrenzer
aan een onwaarschijnlijke 130.000 toeren per minuut draait.

Het is niet precies hetzelfde als een turbo,
maar de bijnaam Johny Supercharger zou pas echt belachelijk zijn.

Kawasaki mikte die hele handel in een stalen buizenframe
en tekende om de zaak in stijl af te werken nog
een oogverblindend mooie enkelzijdige achterbrug,
ook al een nieuwigheid voor Kawa.
