What I picked up the usual suspects. Also this year combined with the exercise Falcon Leap which runs from wednesday till saturday. So expect transport planes to arrive on monday and tuesday.

Last year participants were (2017):
1 Dutch C-130;
2 German C-160;
1 USAF C-130;
1 Polish C-295;

... and normally you can expect one Dakota for friday and saturday parajumps.

Flying not guaranteed as parajumping depends how the weather situation will be (No parajumping when low clouds, fog, strong winds etc.).

...but do not get your hopes up.
Rumour last yeas was that participation gets thougher and thougher with operational requirements.

Combining it with falcon leap is a "gouden idee" to be able to get some transports. Count on 1 or 2 c-160d's, a Baf or rnlaf herc and an exotic states c-130 and a polish or czaf c-295m and we should be very happy.

Hopefull to be proven wrong in a positive way!

Kind regards,

Die M28 Skytruck – Das neue Ausbildungsflugzeug der Bundeswehr
Gepubliceerd op 7 aug. 2017

In a surprise move, the Luftwaffe (German Air Force)
has revealed a lease deal for two M28 Skytrucks.

German evaluation of the twin-turboprop has been going on for some time.

In Luftwaffe service the M28 will be mainly used for parachute jump training.

A first Skytruck has apparently already been handed over while a second aircraft is still at PZL awaiting delivery.

The second airframe is fitted with a cargo pod under the fuselage which has a useable volume of 46cu ft and a maximum payload of 660lb.
https://www.defence24.com/bundeswehr-co ... -skytrucks
German Paratroopers hailing from the Bundeswehr’s 26th Airborne Regiment
participated in a tactical training drop,
with involvement of a PZL Mielec M28 Skytruck aircraft which has been leased,
for 4 years, by the Luftwaffe.

The airframe in question is to be operated by the German Air Force
until the A400M airlifters attain a higher level of readiness.
...a Transall has more of a "presence" in the sky. This Antonov An-28 derivative is even noticeably smaller than a Dakota... :roll:

Hi Ruud, that's not a rehearsal. That's the first mission of the Falcon Leap exercise, in which paratroops train to operate in international set-ups. This exercise will be conducted today, tomorrow and friday. Dropping areas are Deelen AB and the Ginkelse Hei. The Market Garden droppings at the Ginkelse Hei are saturday only.

As for the participants: the two German An28's (D-CPDA & D-CPDB) are up as well, reports from Eindhoven say. Second USAF C-130 is 92-3284 in D-Day scheme (invasion stripes).
