Hi,
Anybody ever been to Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base to watch the F-15's from the 173rd FW from outside (approach end)? Curious about the possibilities here.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Kingsley Field
Sure thing.
In the morning:
1. North end. Fire base at Brett Way and Summers Ln. Air conditioned and elevated and all. Great aircraft turning onto the runway for south wind and take off shots for north wind.
2. Mid field. Hang a right into the farm field where Homedale Rd turns into Henley Rd. You can drive into this field and will need a stepladder. Great for take off shots with south wind.
3. South end. Where Homedale Rd crosses the canal. Park your car on the south side of the canal. You can follow the canal towards the approach end. Great shots of low flying aircraft mainly for landing shots with north wind.
In the afternoon:
1. North end. At the end of Stinson Way is the old fire base. Still there but unoccupied. Great for taxiing aircraft to or from the runway.
2. Inside the civil terminal there is a restaurant. Not great for pics as you are shooting through the window but good for number crunchers.
3. South end. Where Homedale Rd crosses the canal. Same as above however you will have to walk past the approach end to position yourself on the west.
Good luck. Its a great base and flies quite a bit.
Tally.

Re: Kingsley Field
Does the Oregon Air National Guard still have the F-15 painted like an Eagle at that base?
Re: Kingsley Field
Not sure. Last time I was there, Jul/Aug 2017, they did.tbower40 wrote:Does the Oregon Air National Guard still have the F-15 painted like an Eagle at that base?
Re: Kingsley Field
Thanks for your answer Tally and yes tbower40, the 173rd fly with F-15C/D's with a large Eagle on their tail.

Re: Kingsley Field
That's not what was meant by the question. Their anniversary bird 79-0041 had a full colour rendition of an eagle all over the aircraft.. And he wondered if that particular bird is still around.

Ah sorry, you're correct Frank. Unfortunately not tbower40, painted back in its original grey colours again
