Bastille day 2018 in Paris, France.
This was my first time in Paris on July 14th. Probably won't be the last....

I am curious why there are some aircraft from other countries i.e. the German A400

I suppose the German A400, Belgian Alpha Jet and Singapore T-346 were there to respect and celebrate their cooperation with the French.

A nice set of photos! A good side view from the northeast. From what location did you take them?marcel32us wrote:This was my first time in Paris on July 14th. Probably won't be the last[/img]
I was at the Arc de Triomphe du Caroussel for the head on shot of the Patrouille de France (with wrong color of smoke).

I was in Nanterre on a bridge. That's about all I know about the location. Someone else did the navigation this time.

Interesting shots of the air parade.
Due to the difficult lighting conditions at the Champs-Élysées, I went to the heliport Paris Issy-les-Moulineaux and the Esplanade des Invalides for some chopper action.

Very nice. We went to Le Bourget after the parade, maybe next year I'd consider Issy...

Lovely set of pics and a proper flypast! love the choppers at Issy-les-Moulineaux and the Esplanade des Invalides.

Great position for the formation indeed. The bridge you mentioned should have been Pont de Bezons. Better than our position somewhere in Nanterre, I think around LA FOLIE. Based on google street view for Pont de Bezons I understand why you may have missed the last fixed wing formations, which came in further South. We saw them at least, but not more than that.
Last year we stayed close to Parc Lebaudy, which was a bit too close for our taste.
For next year we are looking at a spot South of the formation route, possibly the park close to Hotel l'Amandier, or close to the Seine south of A14. The Xingus and Extra came that way, and we could see some of the helos holding there before it was their turn for the flypast.
Did anybody try these spots yet?
Regards
Martin

Singapore has a training squadron - 150th Squadron - at Cazaux, they operate the M346Amarcel32us wrote:I suppose the German A400, Belgian Alpha Jet and Singapore T-346 were there to respect and celebrate their cooperation with the French.
"The Landes forest, the target centre of Captieux and the aerial zones of Golfe de Gascogne offer all the necessary space for RSAF pilots training requirements which RSAF cannot find in Singapore."
