The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade will provide aviation support to U.S. and NATO forces
training as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve in Europe.
Three U.S.-based, brigade-sized combat units will deploy overseas in the coming months as part of regular troops rotations,
the Army announced Wednesday.

The Army’s 3rd Cavalry Regiment will deploy in the spring to Iraq,
the 101st Airborne Sustainment Brigade will deploy to Afghanistan in the summer
and the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade will deploy to Eastern Europe, Army officials said in separate statements.

Pentagon and Army officials declined to provide the numbers of soldiers expected to deploy from the units,
citing Defense Department security policy.
The department began withholding those numbers last year after providing them for years.

In Europe, the Fort Carson, Colorado-based 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division
will provide aviation support to American and NATO forces training as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve,
the Pentagon’s ongoing efforts first launched in 2014 to reassure allies and deter Russian aggression in the region.

The brigade will replace the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division based primarily in Germany
and is expected to participate in upcoming training events in countries including
Poland, Hungry, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, according to the Army.

The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade last deployed in 2015,
serving a nine-month rotation in Afghanistan.

Elements of the brigade also served there last year.

The upcoming rotation will mark the unit’s first tour in Eastern Europe as part of Atlantic Resolve.
The Fort Carson, Colorado-based 4th CAB is replacing the 1st Air Cavalry Regiment in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve,

the 101st is replacing the 3rd Infantry’s division sustainment brigade in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

It looks like it will be in the beginning of summer...

Beginning this summer, the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Fort Carson, will deploy to Europe in support of U.S. European Command's Operation Atlantic Resolve, according to an Army press release.
The 4th CAB will replace the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade currently serving in Europe.
"The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade is ready to deploy to Europe and work closely with our NATO and regional partners in support of Atlantic Resolve," Col. Scott Gallaway, commander of 4th CAB said in the release.

Based on the length of previous deployments, June would seem to be the changeover month.

Not sure if it concerns the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade but ARC Endurance will call Rotterdam half of June. Around 17 June she will first disembark helicopters at Rotterdam Steinweg (which port is not known by me, but most likely same as last Brigade movement). Afterwards she will resposition to a terminal at the Maasvlakte to disembrak trucks and cars.

She can be followed via Marine Traffic:

https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/de ... :ENDURANCE

Tomorrow she will call Beaumont (TX)
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

According the website from 4 CAB/Fort Carson their helicopters are flown to Beaumont (TX) for shipment to Europe. So, it looks that the ARC Endurance is collecting these helicopters and ship them to Rotterdam.

Regards,
Jan-Pieter.

Rotterdam Steinweg is the same place as where the previos Army deployment embarked.
Compromise is failure.

See http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=134757 for pictures. Be aware that was on arrival. Departure might be even more difficult.
Reading serials is most likely only possible in the air, so not really. My guess will be Eindoven for the refueling, so better options there.

The question is: will Eindhoven again be used for refuelling or is Eindhoven to close by when they depart from Rotterdam? Maybe an airfield further away will be used? Time will tell...

From Bremerhaven they used Nordholz, from Zeebrugge they used Chievres. So Eindhoven is not too close.

Exactly my thoughts....
Given the fact of the upcomming excercise involving USAF C-17 and USAR H-60 ( the only type of chopper deployed that’s not in the Gilze Rijen inventory and thus might need some more training for ground handling) there might be some connection...
Might just as well be gilze groundcrew is deploying to Eindhoven...

My 2 cents...
