Do any of you plan to go to Red Flag 18-1 or 18-2 ? We may meet there. I'm still hesitating between both, coming a long way from France.

Does anyone know something about the intensity of flying on the first day of the Red Flag excersice? Is it a normal flying day or more like class day?

And are the wave times known?

Thanks in advance

First day should be for Fam hops ( Familiarization).
Day wave at around 13-14 and recoveries at 16-17. Nigh wave at around 21 and recovery starting at around midnight.

Four EA-18G Growler aircraft and crews from Number 6 Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley are preparing to deploy on their first international exercise.

From 29 January–16 February 2018 around 340 Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) personnel will deploy to Nevada to train in the world’s most complex air combat environment during Exercise Red Flag 18-1.

An AP-3C Orion and an E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft will also participate in Red Flag, along with a Control and Reporting Centre from 41 Wing to support airborne personnel and aircraft.

I heard that the Colombian delegation will not join RF 2018-2 but 2018-3 instead. Can somebody confirm (or better: deny....)?

It’s even on the scramble FB page... “BREAKING NEWS!

Hopefully you've not already booked a flight to Las Vegas for Red Flag 18-2 (planned for 9-23 March 2018) with the focus of watching the exclusive Fuerza Aérea Colombiana Kfir COAs.

A reliable source (thx CJ !) reported us that these beautiful aircraft are now postponed to the Red Flag 18-3 exercise planned for 13 July - 3 August 2018.
