It looks like a Portugese Falcon 50 inbound, according Mode S data.
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

Correct, checking in Rapcon North for ILS rwy23 LWD. .
Rapcon ask 1 or 2 POB, answer is 4, then Rapcon asks aircraft type. Confirmed aircraft type as Falcon 50. Rapcon is asking if he is a single ship..........

Pieter,
But don't they see the data transmitted by Mode S? It clearly shows FA50, with some basic knowledge you know it's a Falcon 50. I can understand you ask the aircraft to confirm aircraft type etc.

As I can remember they can see Mode S data but if you don't know what an FA50 is as a controller I do understand these questions. Not all controllers are aviation-minded like us.Thijs wrote:Rapcon is fighter mindedAK01 wrote:Correct, checking in Rapcon North for ILS rwy23 LWD. .
