The Israeli Air Force will host flying forces from seven nations later this year in the largest and most complex air exercise in its history.

Nearly 100 aircraft and several hundreds of air warriors and support crews from the United States, Greece, Poland, France, Germany, India and Italy will converge here in the autumn for Blue Flag, a biennial, two-week drill aimed at honing the type of planning, targeting and coordinated command and control demanded by coalitions operating in high-threat theaters.

Israel will host hundreds of airmen from the US, Greece and Poland and, for the first time, France, Germany, India and Italy will also participate.
Some 40 other countries have been invited to participate as observers.

The drill is slated the biggest exercise ever for the IAF with eight nations participating including Israel.

“It will be a massive exercise; the biggest ever for the IAF. Seven nations plus Israel,” Lt. Col. Richard Hecht, the Israeli Air Force's chief of international affairs said,
Of the seven confirmed participants, four have never before actively participated in Blue Flag, which began in 2013 and continued in 2015 as a four-way exercise involving Israel, the U.S., Greece and Poland.

Dates for Blue Flag 17 are Monday 6th thru Thursday 16th Nov.

Rumours suggest USAFE F-15s and F-16s and Lw Typhoons together with the usual suspects; Polish & Greek F-16s and assorted Italians whilst the new boys may be interesting with French 2000s and Indian Sukhois a strong possibility. Did I miss anyone? Oh yes, local F-16Cs plus various models of Eagle. Did I miss anyone else .....

Check out a famous European LCC who may or may not be operating flights into Ovda at the time, afternoon spotting from the "Terminal" could be fruitful (sun behind).

Various articles regarding Blue Flag 17 have been published on the web in the past few months. There has been speculation about Indian Su-30's, but for now it seems only C-130J's will participate: https://theprint.in/2017/08/30/first-ai ... -aircraft/

If this is the right place let's get stared:
Thursday 26th Oct Six Lw Tiffs were booked into Ovda with serials reported elsewhere as 30+77, 30+46, 30+47 & 30+51, 31+21, 30+65. Tanking was by 1026 (does anyone have an opinion as to whether the "+" is required) which was photographed poorly at Ben Gurion this evening. So 0 for 7 so far in my book
Also into Ovda should have been an AMI C-130J MM62195
At Ben Guruon for the past few days has been Polish CASA 016. (Might have to go out wit' tippex and make it 026) and visiting today was C-40A 10041.
Hopefully things'll pick up .....

If I’m not mistaken there has been a lengthy article in the Scramble once. For Some years they stopped using the + in German airforce serials. This stopped when someone dug up an official German document with a + in the serial.

ADS-B seems to be showing a + for what it's worth..

FAF (Adel´A) 4050 tail 738 according to ADSB just turned back near Crete (after presumably offloading a package of Mirage 2000s) The Polish also pinged, 4056 and 4062 (flights). Another Italian 767 into LLOV today, MM62229, but I didn´t "hear" the Panavia MRCAs.
Some more F-16s are due in LLOV Wednesday.
