Hi,
Next week I will be in Murcia for a couple of days. Can someone tell me how spotting is on San Javier and on Alcantarilla?
According Google maps San Javier has two parallel runways, which one is the main one for take-off and landing of the C101 and T35? Do you need a stepladder; what is the height of the fence?
Alcantarilla is somewhat a mystery, also not good visible on Google Maps.
On an average day what can you expect?
Any information is more than welcome
Thanks
Ronald

c101 use the sea runway and the T35 the inland one.
if there landing 05R you are laughing.
Google earth shows the fence and you will get away with a little stepper/stone/hmm hire car...
Or if they take off 23L then go to the end of the road and stand on top the wall by the camp site
Not sure if I got moved on 1 Day or not, but definitely spent some time there.
I also been to Alcantarilla and I was lucky with a Chinook doing paradrops but think on a normal Day you wont see much.

Muchas Gracias!!
Two more questions:
San Javier: Any chance to make pictures of the T35's?
Harbour: Sometimes some helcopters are present at Arsenal de Cartagena, the military harbour. I checked Google Maps but I can not find a possible helicopter platform. Do you know the exact location where I can find the helicopters visiting the harbour?
Thanks again

Think the t35 are harder as a short landing and take off.
Not familiar with the harbour.

T35's use 05L/23R. Landing 05 and take off 23 can be photographed from the parking lot of the terminal.
Send me PM with your email address. I can send you examples if you want.
Have fun.
