Probably a lost cause but I will ask anyway ! I was visiting the USS Midway museum on the above date and whilst on deck taking photos I noticed on the opposite side of the harbour were what looked like possibly 2 carriers receiving some attention? my question is both have what looked like an inactive F-18 on their deck and am trying to find out which carriers they are and in turn find out the id of the 2 F-18 in question. I did take pictures but only had my small camera with me and where they are very clear I cannot tie them down to a specific aircraft.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Leonard..... Thanks for the reply, yes this is definitely one of them, the one on the other carrier is a sand colour with the canopy missing and several other bits !

Is this the one coded 76 on the nose?

I could not see anything on either of them ! There is a very good picture of the one above on the USS Carl Vinson Facebook page but cannot see and marks !

The second carrier appears now to have been USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71, and a closer look at my photo shows the deck trainer to also be marked 71 and is not in a brown scheme as first though but the traditional grey colour, shadowing made it first look a sandy brown colour !
