Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Great pictures! Thank you very much
I am sure, it was not easy ...
By the way, on the last two pictures, which squadron is this?

Spotting in Turkey. Shoot and hide i think?

@Jovel: Haha, it wasn't as bad as I expected. You do need to keep a low profile and be reasonable about how close you want to be. But indeed had my car with me all the time and waited in the car when there was no action. You do get curious looks from passers by. I'm 100% sure the pilots will have noticed me, maybe they are more used to spotters from their foreign deployments? Just make sure base security doesn't see you.
@F17_114PM: I am not sure to be honest. The scramble database says the F-16 is from 191. Filo out of Balıkesir and the F-4 is from 111. Filo from local Eskişehir. I also noticed the tail art as well as the "X" on the side of the fuselage. If anyone has more info they can share?

401 Filo new test unit of the Turkish AF I believe.
Re: 2016-03-29 - Eskişehir Air Base
Ah, I just found this: 401 Filo was formed in early 2014. Its mission is Test & Evaluation of new systems and weapons. The first F-16 (91-0002 with just the orange band on the tail) is from that squadron.

Thank you. So, 401 Filo. Nice catch!
