Locals told me that 2 of the 5 AIM Tornado's were under maintenance.
They will stay until next week, every morning 2 Tonkas around 10:00lt.
Have fun and good luck! Best advice (100-400)mm lens. You will take them around 300mm.

Did the 6th Italian Tornado arrive at Nörvenich?
If yes, any clue on its ID?

Judging from the previous post as well as a log from the 7th, no 6th Tornado has arrived.

There are rumors that Merkel will arrive this week and that the roads are not reccomended to drive. Only the fence (Crash Sector) is a good spot. But not sure.. does anyone know if it's "safe" to spot ? Because I don't want to stand between the loads of photographers ... thanks in advanced.

Yesterday the 4 Itelians Tornado's went airborne and did some fly'by's. All 4 landed again.
I stood at the Crash Gate (with steps) because the soldiers from the airbase were placing a dark green fence on the fence itself from the airbase. So practically you can't see anything.

Angela Merkel is arriving upcoming monday on Norvenich. So I assume there will be some controls (so for the ones) who will visit the airbase watch out where you park your car. (It's a 50,- euro fine if you park your car at the crash gate).

EF2000 Typhoons:

31+08
31+07

Tonka's:
50-01
50-43
50-02
50-46

In the evening:
EF2000: 31+36 & 30+05

Also 3 local Police heli's (Eurocopters) were doing about 25 low passes on the airstrip. Today (17-03-2016) they will do the same and same time (I heard them Pilots-Tower) when they left they asked if they could come back tomorrow to do the same.
Time: 16:00-18:00

Also the SAR heli went airborne (orange doors). 70+89

There was also a EF2000 doing a FLY-BY from: ... airbase. It had the number: 31+38 (EF 2000 Typhoon)

Well Olli, honestly when I was at the crash gate three soldiers who were placing the green fence for today's arrival (14:00) Angela Merkel told me this. The whole spot you are are not allowed to park your car.
Next to that, my local friends Hans Weber, Peter Doll en Ullrich told me this info. They live 4 miles from the base so I assume they are right. By the end of the day there are signs... I am not here to discuss whats right or wrong. I'm just forwarding info for visitors who like to visit.. to prevent them getting into trouble.

14:00 today Angela Merkel is arriving at ETNN. Looking forward for touch down :)
