Yesterday I've wanted to catch a helo from this base. They didn't fly on this day. I 've wanted to catch some w&r too.
Gate:
only the F-104 can be seen. It is preserved between some buildings on pole. Its not preserved with "DF-101" serial

Dump:
from the otherside you can see 2 wrecks/burned out plane and helo:
alw-2 (77+18) only front section without tail
do-27 56+86 (lies upside down next the LWS.)

As fas as I know all flying CH-53´s were handed over to the Luftwaffe...

But according to the Scramble Orbat, the CH-53GS subtype of HSG64 is still operating out of Bentlage till it closes in 2017. The GA's of HSG64 operate out of Holzdorf, while Laupheim has a mix of both types.

Bentlage houses still ca.2 CH-53s for overhaul.
October 1st I spotted 84+91 in Hall 8.
Mostly they are in this hall and visible through windows (read on nose).
The Lehrwerkstatt houses still some nice ones, but is mostly closed.
