Seen today on the neighbourhood of a gas station on the Motorway A 65, near the little city of Aire sur Adour between Pau and Mont de Marsan. the remains of a Potez Air Fouga CM 170, in rather poor condition; on static display. Obiously she has known better days, cockpît emty with two dummies figuring the crew; enginesless...
One of the intersting points is that she wears a colour scheme that evocates Patrouille de France colours. Belly of the fuselage coloured navy blue with a large white stripe; the caracteristic V formed tail decorated with the blue white red stripes on bothe sides. However colours of fuselage, nude aluminium and navy blue are not correct.
Register code and serial numbers are missing.
The location of this unhealthy bird is also interesting. She stays on the limits of the city of Aire sur Adour, little city not far from the pyrennées mountains ant the city of Pau, where the Turbomeca factory which manufactured the Marbore turbo jet engines, which powered the CM 170 is established..
To be noticed that the name Marbore and the other names of the Turbomeca engines where attributed in direct relationship with the Pyrennées mountains: Astazou, Ariel, Makila....
A kind of a gloomy homage paid to a brilliant bird and a really dynamic and successfull company

Hello it's well this place, google indicates well that we are on the limits of the little city of Aire sur l'Adour, if you unzoom the map you will see the gas station, its parking and after a little peace of grass, the round way, where the CM 170 is exhibited.
