Good shots, Patrick.
Where did you take the shots on the runway at Tucson? Hope to be there during coming March.
Grtz,
R.

Thanks for the comments! For the questions please sent me a PM.ypenburg63 wrote:Good shots, Patrick. Where did you take the shots on the runway at Tucson? Hope to be there during coming March.
Grtz,
R.
After leaving Tucson after sunset we drove until Wickeburg. Our first stop in the morning was Kingman, a Mi24 was under repair there:
and a visitor:
Teusdayafternoon we stayed at Nellis, the sun was shining and there was a lot of activity. Red Flag takes off around 13.30 and most a/c are recovered before sunset. To get the right pics I ran about 7 miles up and down the road.... We also stayed Wednesday at Nellis and in the morning the locals flew which gave us some extra serials.
Here are some teusdayafternoon pics:

US CA,AZ,NV trip day 6 Point Mugu (photo)
Yesterday (Thursday) we tried to go for quality at Point Mugu.... We were not so succesfull, a KC-130F took off and directly banked to the right. When it came back it did not use the approach. But besides the old KC-130F we had another goal, a Viking, one of the last ones. We were Lucky with this one.
But what kind of Helicopter we saw?.... and anyone for the serial of the P-3????? (there are two I guess, like when they were based at Love Field?).
It was a relaxed but rather frustrating day.... Today we went for quality again at El Centro....

Aha, ok, thanks. No I hope someone knows the serial of the Orion .Phantom54 wrote:It is a MQ-8C Fire Scout
Last Friday we visited El Centro. More then 25 Hornets were flying and other aircraft visited the field.
From El Centro we saw a CH-46 land at nearby imperial. The Sea Knight we just missed (only a bad pic) but for the two MH-60's we were in time.
After sunset we drove back to LA again for our flight back on Saturday.
In the morning we visited Chino. We photographed 120 ex mil a/c in an hour without visiting the Planes of Fame museum .
All in all it was a great trip with many new serials! I hope to be back next year. Hope you liked the pics. Thanks for watching.

I hope you got to enjoy the sight and sound of that HMMT-164! They only have five CH-46s left and the unit will stand down on the 9th April, marking the final retirement of the CH-46 from service with the USMC.
