The Canadian NORAD Region (CANR) is hosting the flying portion of North American Aerospace Defence Command's (NORAD) annual Exercise Vigilant Shield this month at 5 Wing Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador.
The exercise will be at 5 Wing from October 15 to 29, with live flying scenarios taking place from October 20 to 26.
Deployed Canadian assets will include CF-188 Hornet fighter aircraft and 8 Air Communication and Control Squadron (8 ACCS), which is a deployable air space control system based at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario.
Deployed American assets will include F-15 fighter, E-3 AWACs (airborne warning and control system) and KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft.
