Airtattoo Update 5th june 2014

The Air Tattoo flying display is now full thanks to the Polish Air Force and their confirmation of the Zespół Akrobacyjny Orlik (Orlik Aerobatic Team) of PZL-130TC Turbo Orlik trainers as well as a Sukhoi Su-22 'Fitter' demonstration :!:

A most welcome appearance from this veteran of the cold war era and the first 'Fitter' appearance in a UK flying programme since Czech examples flew at the Air Tattoo back in 1995.
Supporting the Polish contingent will be a C295 transport in the static park.

The Vintage Village has been boosted by the addition of the Boeing Stearman A75N1 biplane in which seasoned historic aircraft pilot Tracey Curtis-Taylor flew the almost 10,000 miles from Cape Town to Goodwood at the end of last year. It will join the Spartan Executive and Waco UPF-7 already confirmed. The Stearman appeared at RIAT 2013 in advance of Tracey's epic adventure.

The static display will now include two aircraft from the Hungarian Air Force, supporters of the Air Tattoo for over 20 years. A JAS 39D Gripen multi-role fighter is due to be joined by a veteran Antonov An-26 tactical transport, the latter now an increasingly rare sight in Europe, and due for replacement within the Hungarian air arm.

Two aircraft from the RAF Halton Microlight Club, an Evektor EV-97 Eurostar and an Ikarus C42B, will be on static display at RIAT 2014. The club at Halton in Buckinghamshire is part of the RAF Microlight Flying Association, which offers serving and civilian members the chance 'to take part in sports tours or Expeditions to enhance and improve their flying and airmanship skills.' The Air Tattoo's parent charity RAF Charitable Trust has sponsored two of the microlights operated by the club.

Jet Provost T5 serial XW324, owned by Jeff Bell and operated by Jet Aerobatics, will be returning to the Air Tattoo static park this year. This immaculate machine appears in the 60th anniversary year of the Jet Provost prototype's first flight.

Major Air Tattoo sponsor Rolls-Royce is contributing its Spitfire PRXIX to the flying display. Returned to the air in late 2012 following an overhaul by the Aircraft Restoration Company at Duxford, this Griffon-engined photo-reconnaissance version of the famous Supermarine fighter will be flown by Chris Hadlow. It will recall the exploits of the RAF's PR Spitfires, not least around the time of D-Day 70 years ago.
Yes, FINALLY a Su-22 Fitter flying at RIAT. Solo demo or two-ship like 2012 and 2013 :?:

update 12-06 from airtattoo.com:

•As last year, the Estonian Air Force will be providing two aircraft at RIAT 2014 - an Aero L-39C Albatros jet trainer for the flying display, and a veteran Antonov An-2 'Colt' utility biplane for the static park.
•Adding further to the Army Air Corps' representation at this summer's Air Tattoo will be a Britten-Norman Defender from 651 Squadron. Stationed at Aldergrove in Belfast, the aircraft is a rarely-seen attendee at a British air display. It will be present in the static park.
•The involvement of British military helicopters in RIAT 2014 is already strong, and two more have been added to the static display - a Bell Griffin HT1 from No 60(R) Squadron at RAF Shawbury, and a search and rescue Westland Sea King HAR3 of No 203(R) Squadron at RAF Valley.
•The Royal Air Force Centre of Aviation Medicine (RAFCAM) has confirmed that it will send a Hawk T1 for static display as part of RIAT 2014's celebration of the jet trainer's 40th anniversary. RAFCAM has two Hawks, based at MoD Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. They are used as part of its research into the effects of fast jet flying on the human body.
•Two further examples of the historic Jet Provost trainer will be joining the RIAT 2014 static park. Regular show attendee Neil McCarthy is set to bring his Newcastle-based Jet Provost T3A, serial XM479, while from North Weald will come a T3 model, formerly serialled XN637.
•Against these additions, a small number of cancellations have been notified. The NATO E-3A Sentry, Royal Navy Sea King HU5 and the civilian Guimbal Cabri light helicopter are regrettably no longer able to participate in RIAT 2014.

That depends on your definition of "confermd". RIAT is confirmed by the Flying Bulls as they will be there with their Corsair, Mitchel and Lightning. No idea how far they are now with the JASDF.

It seems the F-35 will be at Fairford some time before the show. From http://www.wiltsglosstandard.co.uk/news/11268546._/
THE wait is over for aircraft enthusiasts as the highly-anticipated F35 is due to arrive at RAF Fairford for this year's air tattoo between June 28 and July 3.
Also:
"We've been working on getting the F35 to RIAT for 35 years," said CEO of RIAT Tim Prince.
I knew military programs have a long way to go before entering service, but THAT long

Today:

Returning to RIAT for what promises to be another impressive demonstration of agility from a large aircraft is the Airbus A400M Atlas. The airlifter will appear in the flying display crewed by test pilots from manufacturer Airbus Defence and Space. Last year, Anglo-German crew Tony Flynn and Karl-Heinz Mai took home the Air Tattoo's Cannestra Trophy for best display by an overseas participant. Tony Flynn is scheduled to join chief test pilot Ed Strongman in making up the display crew this time around.
Making the short hop over from their base at Cotswold Airport will be two classic jets from the Midair Squadron, Canberra PR9 serial XH134 and Hunter T7 serial XL577. Both will be on static display over the Air Tattoo weekend. The Canberra, of course, made its post-restoration debut at RIAT last year.
Peter Vacher's Battle of Britain veteran Hurricane I, R4118, will grace the Air Tattoo static display this year. The aircraft, based at Peter's farm strip near Didcot, is due to be flown in by test pilot Keith Dennison.
Returning to the Air Tattoo static park this year is the Vampire Preservation Group's lovingly-restored Vampire T11, WZ507. This is the sole T11 believed to be flying today, all the other airworthy two-seat Vampires being licence-built (mainly ex-Swiss) examples. It is based at North Weald, and will further augment the small gathering of classic jets attending RIAT 2014 for static display.

Update 26-06-2014

We can now confirm that due to an overwhelming response from invited air arms and operators, our flying display on Saturday & Sunday has been extended and will now start at 9.45 and finish at 6.00pm (over 8 hours!). Our Saturday and Sunday flying display has previously been advertised as running from 10am - 5.30pm so please arrive early so as not to miss the first displays!
The giant jigsaw that is the flying display has now been completed and on our Aircraft Confirmed page we have a clever new function that shows which aircraft are flying on Friday as well as Saturday/Sunday. You can see the Friday flying participants here.
It will be good to welcome the Portuguese Air Force back to RIAT 2014, and once again with a rare aeroplane - a C295 from Esquadra 502 'Elefantes' at Montijo. It will be displayed in the static park.
We have had great news that the Polish Air Force is sending a second SU22 for the flying display, we have another F16 for the static display from the Royal Danish Air Force and the Swiss Air Force are sending another Super Puma for static display which joins the one we already have in the flying display. This is also the case for the J105Oe from Austrian Air Force as we add a static aircraft to the J105Oe already confirmed as flying.
The UK Met Office 'High Altitude Flight' BAe 146 from the National Centre for Atmospheric Science will be joining us again on static display following a very successful visit in 2012.

The F-35A and C models are still grounded, so ZM137 is still at Eglin. Once it leaves Eglin, at least 36 hours are reportedly needed at Pax River to prepare the jet for the transatlantic crossing.

Based on this, the earliest these jets will arrive in the UK will be the weekend.

•Tickets for Saturday 12 July sold out last night! There are still tickets available for Friday 11 and Sunday 13 July for those who are yet to book.

•Two more RAF aircraft are among the latest confirmations for static display at RIAT 2014. No II(AC) Squadron at RAF Marham will send a Tornado GR4/GR4A, while No 100 Squadron from RAF Leeming is providing a Hawk T1 to bolster the line-up marking the British-designed jet trainer's 40th anniversary.

•Now remarkably well recovered from the serious injuries he sustained in a crash two years ago, Belgian pilot Tony de Bruyn will make a return to the Air Tattoo with his second airworthy OV-10B Bronco. The recently-restored aircraft has re-appeared on the display circuit in 2014, resplendent in the original colours it wore as a target tug with West Germany's Luftwaffe. We are delighted to welcome Tony and his enthusiastic colleagues in the Bronco Demo Team back to RIAT.

•An immaculate example of the Chipmunk T10, serial WK514 (civil registration G-BBMO), is being sent for static display by the Mike Oscar Group based at Wellesbourne Mountford in Warwickshire. This aircraft was delivered early in 1952 to No 5 Reserve Flying School at Castle Bromwich.

•We have updated our participation list to include a number of 'Visitor' and 'Support' aircraft. Whilst these will not be displaying to the public, they will be seen arriving and departing as they transport equipment and personnel to and from the Air Tattoo.

•Two cancellations have been notified, both relating to the static park. The German Army EC135 and German Navy Sea Lynx have both had to pull out for operational reasons.
