It's a pity that the Mirages aren't in their old colours any longer, but I think they look pretty good in this grey jacket as well!!

Peru,Las Palmas Base visit.Photo.Day 5
Hello,
Thanks for the nice comments. Last wednesday was indeed a great day. Lima is very strange and since wednesday it was sunny, humid, cold and foggy so there were no more rehearsals.
In the last days we visited some wrecks, eat and drunk beers. Today we entered the base again and this should be the day for the big flight pass. But not much happened. A few new a/c were noted though but we are still very very satisfied with this trip (but do not forget to bring patience). Btw, the FAP guys could not tell if the Hind's are Mi.25's or Mi.35's.....
Here is an impression yesterday (sunday):

Peru Base visits. Photo. Day 6. Callao!
Yesterday (2nd easter egg day) was our last day in Peru.
The weather forecast looked ok so there would be activity again at Las Palmas. On the day before I asked a few FAP people in Las Palmas if a visit to Callao was possible for monday.
They gave us 90% chance (but in Peru this can mean 20% ). In the morning we got a message to hurry to the Air Base... We took it slow though because we thought they wanted us to be at Las Palmas.
After an hour I read the message again and they ment Callao I figured out....!
The taxi driver flew to Callao and it was worth the visit. The aircraft for excercise Coorperacion arrived! It was a great day with a lot of different aircraft and helicopters from the America's. The sunlight was great and everything was possible, even visiting the storage and dump areas.
At dusk we were still at the airfield and we alsmost missed our KLM flight home. The 7 years of contact maintenance was worth it!
Here is a small but diverse selection of yesterday:

Nice, Pat, what a variety! It's hard to imagine you had to have patience there, with this amount of gems in front of your lenses!
