Hi Lesley, long time no speak!11E wrote: The serial of Mi-1U at Bautzen with fake(?) serial ''001''
The highly recommended book "MiG, Mi, Su & Co - Sämtliche Militär-Flugzeuge und -Hubschrauber der DDR" (ISBN 3-935525-07-9) gives following info:
It is a license built SM-1
c/n: S1A01002
s/n: 506
Manufacturer's Date: 1959
05MAY1959 toc
30JUN1969 soc , 1982 Traditionsvorstartlinie Offiziershochschule Flugplatz Bautzen as '001', to Museum Berlin Gatow
another book "Flugzeuge der DDR - Part 1" gives the exact type as SM-1Sz.
Are you happy now?
