751 Esquadra - Para que outros vivam! Incl. air-to-air
As some of you might know or have seen in the magazines I was fortunate enough to visit 751 Esquadra multiple times during the past few years to report on their activities. I logged over 12 hours flying in their mighty EH-101 merlins doing (C)SAR training, low level flying, pollution control, formation flying etc.
Special thanks goes out to the friendly crews of the squadron and their leader João Carita. In special I would like to thank my friend Ricardo Nunes who left the squadron last year, obrigado Ricardo!
Enough text, on with the show
That's it!
Cheers

Easily the best looking EH101's around... and beautifully captured too!

Excellent photo series - clearly the work of a long term engagement with the unit, you just can't shoot all that high quality stuff during a single, short visit!
Marvelous work!!

Great photos!
One question about the 8th photo. When was it taken, and time of the day if possible? When I 1st saw the photo during Hot Blade exercise I think I saw somewhere it was taken on a wednesday (probably July 24th) and there's a chance that I've caught in my photos
Been there most of the days (afternoons to be more correct) photographing the movements at São Jacinto, one of the spots used can be seen in that photo, the ferry boat pier on the opposite shore and also at the Lighthouse taking advantage of the free tours on wednesdays

Wonderful series! I especially like the shots from within the cabin.
Nice color scheme on the Merlin too.

Thanks Menso, that confirms that I got you The 2 Merlins arrived just after the 5 Hueys took off, my photos are all from the distance (I was about 2kms away, on the top of the Lighthouse, with a Canon Powershot SX10) and plenty heat distortion but it was very nice to see from up there
The one that landed
And that must be you up there
