HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
During Cruzex 2013 I found this HS-125 behind a gasstation near Recife (airport).
But cannot find any info on its identity.
Its tail colors suggest Brazilian Air Force with text HS-125 and 2011 on it.
Who can help?
Thanks, Carl.

Thanks Erik for your reply.
I found this one (2118) too but its unlikely to be my one ... here a picture of the 2118 in 2012 in a different scheme and mint condition.

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
My knowledge of the Brazilian Air Force is limited, but here is my take on this one.
The colors seem to suggest it is one of the GEIV birds which are IU-93 (pic). As far as I know only 4 have these colours (6050 to 6053), all of which are still flying. Also, those are Hawkers and not original HS.125s (just look at the engines). So I think this one has fake colours and therefore might not even be an original FAB example. Which one it is though..... no idea.
Erwin
PS I would be very thankful if you have more info on where exactly this one can be found
PS2 It is not the 2118, as that one is located at an Air Force installation for some time already: location

We also saw '2011' at Recife on 9/11/2013. On the same day we saw 2118 at the HQ to the south of the airport and 2121 near the Main Gate on the military side at Recife.

Could it be the 2124? That one was stored at a place called Parque de Material Aeronautico de Recife in 2006, maybe it has been moved and repainted since then?

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
Good thinking Grietje but recently while taking pictures of the B-17 and Emb326 at the gate of Recife airbase I noticed a good looking HS-125 onbase at PAMA-RF as well. I did not read it but one can assume it is still the 2124.

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
This is getting too complicated. You cannot see PAMA at Recife from where the Main Gate to the airfield. PAMA is at the opposite end of the airfield. As noted above 2121 is preserved about 200m from the B-17 and EMB-326. Is this the one you saw? We spent some time viewing the area around PAMA and there was no sign of another C-93.

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
No not complicated, sorry, just my mistake. It then was your 2121 I saw not at PAMA-RF but at the main entrance. Like I said I did not read it.
So the 2124 is still a possibility ...

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
in Recife we noted:
2118 at the HQ at -8.148567,-34.909335
2121(?) at -8.134322,-34.926067, we only saw its tail fin from the terminal.
The one looking for is at -8.127552,-34.916037 (not visible on Google maps yet), possible 2124

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
Thanks Marco but your last two coordinates do not work for me ... perhaps Gardner can confirm.
So 2118 is correct
2121 somewhere in the CINDACTA III area at 8° 8'20.24"S 34°55'25.27"W
And 2124? behind the truckstop/garage/gasstation at 8° 7'18.51"S 34°55'9.90"W

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
I stand corrected. Your position on the Hawker in your picture is the better one. BTW, if somebody likes to spot outside, this would be a better spot -8.096891,-34.929294. If you survive your onward journey is to be seen as the neighbourhood around the unknown Hawker is a bit tricky. Locals advised us not to spend time outside the terminal.

Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
For the first in a long time I did not feel safe while spotting, expecially since locals at Natal warned us to not to stay/stand still at the approach over there. They told us about local gangs on motorbikes armed with guns, probably very interested in our camera equipment and other valuables.Marco wrote:If you survive your onward journey is to be seen as the neighbourhood around the unknown Hawker is a bit tricky. Re: HELP wanted HS-125 at Recife (Brazil)
The 'mystery' 125 can be found at 8.12179 34.91928, but you have to use the Historical Imagery function. This will show you a newer image, but of poorer quality.
