[quote="perrie"]Thanks PIK Flyer, might go tomorrow to have a look. Where's the Sea King hangar located?
Anyone some numbers from today? Thanks!

Re: Nordholz Airday 18 Aug 2013 - 100 Jahr Marineflieger
Today 60+07 and 60+04 operated from the other side. This morning 07 taxied along the crowdline because of the bad weather and in the afternoon 04 (after 07 broke down) flew.In my option, 4 Orion are present and active at Norholz, 60+01,03,05,07
01 and 05 on static, leaves the ohter two, but I'm not 100% sure, so anyone else could confirm or correct this!

I've asked about the 83+55, it's a GIA, which was build as a ground trainer, never intended to be airworthy.

Re: Nordholz Airday 18 Aug 2013 - 100 Jahr Marineflieger
Hi,
Lynx 83+55 had on it's tail : Lynx no 258.
Which would make it the ex Lynx Mk.88 83+07 before it was updated to Lynx Mk.88A and c/n 421
So I think the old airframe of 83+07 was reused for the GIA airframe.
Anyone an idea why it is serialed 83+55 and not any other number.
Pieter

Which 5 Sea Kings were in the closed hangar bay? (please specify front and back as the back row looked like they were in maintenance)

It has been reported as the former Westerland Sylt instructional airframe
and has been refurbished by Eurocopter to its present standard.
The markings on the tail were first reported at Nordholz and seem a later addition to the airframe.
The c/n has been checked at Sylt and is c/n 350.
Norwegian Lynx 235 crashed in 1988 and was send to Westland for rebuild using parts from Lynx c/n 350
The c/n plate of 235 has been checked after it returned to service and still carries c/n 235 on its original plate
The original cockpit of 235 has been rebuild to flight simulator and is now at Kjevik.
How much of c/n 350 was used in the original Sylt Lynx and how much of it is still left now it is at Nordholz remains to be seen.
Anyone more info on this Lynx of its Norwegian counterpart?
Regards,
Otger
For the benefit of Mr. Kite, there will be a show tonight on trampoline

there was also an unmarked P-3 in the area where the ceremony 100 years Naval Aviation was held, this MIGHT be the instructional airframe. I cannot confirm this, but obviously there is also another P-3 on the field.
