AMS sets new pax record for TRANSFER pax. in June 2013

The AMS traffic statistics for June 2013 show that the airport had significant growth in Transfer passengers (+ 10,3%) and set a new all-time record for transfer pax of 2.081.742 passengers per month.

Never before has AMS seen so many people transfer flights at the airport. The previous record was set in July 2012 at 2.027.000 pax.
As July is a busier month than June, it is reasonable to expect AMS to set a new record again this July 2013.

Overall AMS also set a new JUNE pax. record with 4.857.589 passengers total last month, up 5,2%.

- Movements were up 1%
- Cargo was up 1,7%
- Mail was up 19,7%

In August 2013 AMS set a new all-time passenger record of 5.333.474 passengers/month.

This record was 11.000 pax over the previous record set in July 2013 of 5.322.568 pax/month
It was the first time in over 10 years that August was busier than the month of July.

The largest growth (+7.7%) was in transfer passengers 2.132.788, August 2013 also saw a new record for the number of Intercontinental passengers: 1.702.419.

Cargo grew by a healthy 5.7%

And how does that compare to last year?

The Year to Date is as follows:

- Jan-Aug 2012 = 34.3 million
- Jan-Aug 2013 = 35.3 million

So the prediction for the Full Year is:

- 2012 = 51.035.000 pax.
- 2013 = 52.300.000 pax.

Please note that AMS continues to grow faster than FRA or CDG are.
