Right now the first three F models are flown from the factory in Philladelphia to Fort hood by dutch aircrew! Right now at the same time the next 2 F-models are on transport to Antwerp by boat, we expect them in Antwerp the 23th of august then we break them off and transport them by truck to Woensdrecht. There they will undergo a 7 week modification program, after that we have to perform test flights and after that, LCW hands the aircraft over to 298! The third F model for 298 will arrive somewhere in December this year.

Typical RNLAF, something (in this case brand new) and modify it before you ever use it.jeff_LTT wrote: There they will undergo a 7 week modification program

Why by off-the-shelf if you can postpone introduction, rise the project price and introduce new problems by adding our own thingies to it?

Ever thought of stuff that is not being done the US because they are not entitled to?
And before you ask what then, not everything can be shared on an open forum.
Best Regards,

Yeah right, we buy almost everything from our big friend the US, so they sell stuff they cannot install....Droef wrote:Ever thought of stuff that is not being done the US because they are not entitled to?

Re: Nieuwe Chinook-variant voor Koninklijke Luchtmacht.
Of course it is a bloody shame that the RNLAF (and armed forces in general) always seem to get away with buying stuff and then adapting it for huge amounts of money. Sure not all adaptation are bad and some are even really good. But if other armed forces can fight with standard equipment , we should learn to do so too.Droef wrote:There are people that get arrested for doing that.....Redskin wrote:Yeah right, we buy almost everything from our big friend the US, so they sell stuff they cannot install....Droef wrote:Ever thought of stuff that is not being done the US because they are not entitled to?And before you ask what then, not everything can be shared on an open forum.

Your remark here, implying that you know more than the rest of us, but can't share it because it is secret, is called "belangrijkdoenerij". People who really know the details don't visit forums to make such remarks.......

Re: Nieuwe Chinook-variant voor Koninklijke Luchtmacht.
It is a shame that terms like you deem necessary to qualify people with are being done based on assumptions. I leave that totally up to your responsibility. What I was merely trying to point out is that not all stuff is being developed and applied in the US, not everything that is available is being used bt the US and not everything that is American is acceptable to Netherlands Military Arworthiness standards.Your remark here, implying that you know more than the rest of us, but can't share it because it is secret, is called "belangrijkdoenerij". Whatever you are trying to conclude from what I have stated, who I am or what I do is for your account, but qualifying people to way you do is unjust.
Re: Nieuwe Chinook-variant voor Koninklijke Luchtmacht.
Guys guys guys. The explanation might be very easy: Boeing is not allowed to install equipment from a so-called 'third party'. Therefore, someone else (a.k.a. as 'the customer', being: KLu) needs to do that after delivery.
