Re: Market Garden
This is a burning question for me as well , i will be in EHEH this first week of September and was wondering if any aircraft are going to participate and when this suppose to happen (September 1 ?) timeframe ?
Re: Market Garden
So 22 september it is.
Is also known which aircraft types will participate in the droppings?
One or more C-47/DC-3 and some Hercules aircraft (RNLAF and USAFE)?
Greetings,
Henk

Re: Market Garden
I will inform here when there's news. Expect most of the participants a few days before 22nd, the Americans usually come early to plan and practise.

Re: Market Garden
Don't know how it was in the past 3 years ( I don't follow it so close anymore) but when the memorial was flown from Soesterberg the RAF C-130's arrived saturday morning. Most other participants arrived in the days before.

Aviodrome has published a news report that Market Garden is taking place this weekend, September 14th and 15th with flights of C-47 'Drag 'm Oot' with paras. Check Aviodrome's website.

Re: Market Garden
Fred, to avoid people getting confused by your post: the big paradrop over Ginkelse Heide, which this Eindhoven-topic is all about, will be at the 22nd (as said before in this topic). This is the drop that will most likely see mixes of Hercs/Transall/C.295 from then-allied and -enemy countries operate from Eindhoven.
I will keep you updated on news that's published at EWAS.
(If you re interested, check this website for the full extent of the commemorative programme: http://www.market-garden.info/operation ... _2012.html)

Stephan

Re: Market Garden
EWAS reports:
Er doet in ieder geval 1 C-130 van Rhode Island ANG mee, en twee Engelsen.
