Separate photo topics or combining logs and photo's

There is some discussion between the moderators about combining photo's and logs or keep it like this, logs and photo's separated.

In order to make a good decision we would like to here your opinion.

I would say, keep it separated. Take the show at Malmen as an example. There are 3 photo-topics, and one for the logs. Easy to follow if you are into the numbers. But if you'll combine those posts, the overview is gone.
And there are a lot of 'just-photo' spotters, who don't care about the numbers, so for them it's might not add anything if the topics are merged.

I voted keep photos and logs separated. However, I wouldn't mind combining photo topics from one event (or one day) into a single topic. But that's another discussion I guess .

My 2 pennies:

-keep logs and photos separated; mentioning a link from the log to the pictures and vv works fine for me.

-like Joost says: pls combine photo topics from an event or a date in one topic.

-another subject but I want to mention it anyway: I am not a fan of huge photo topics like Shunn31's Toulouse topic. Don't get me wrong: I like those contributions very much but I prefer to have separate topics per day, so you won't have to reload all the old pics each time there is a new addition.

Keep it as it is. IMO it is quite clear now where to expect which content, and if you want to merge, are you expecting arty farty pics in for example the Airshownews forum? I thought such discussion was done not longer than a year ago about people feeling annoyed about such a thing.

I voted for combining logs and photo's but I have to say I would post only one single photo just like a newspaper! Dutch: 'plaatje bij het praatje'

That is too much simplified in my view. The suggestion was to allow a certain amount of photos with logs, as per request of several users over time.
Having said that: after we had to convince quite some more people than just a few in the beginning, why we keep photos and logs apart, that modus seems to have gained a lot of popularity now (by getting used to it?).

A condition for the illustration of logs (Ernesto suggests what I think would be a nice option) would have had to be that users can opt to see those photos, or not. The idea was to do this through the use of attachments. However, the current board/user options that control the display of images, either attached or linked, do not provide the functionality that I think we need to make it a good option.

In other words: I fear this poll is largely redundant at this time... (so my vote went to 'other').
