i will be visiting soesterberg for the depot open days in april and have a couple of questions.

1. do you catch a bus from the museum at kamp zeist or can you drive onto soesterberg ?

2. has anyone got lat/long for seeing the aircraft at the barracks (dominenen)
i have got co-ord for gate but the one for viewing aircraft is wrong ?

many thanks for any help.

Answer to question one:

Busses stop at the MLM terrain, from there you will be driven to the depots on Soesterberg and dropped of again at the end of the tour. You can't drive yourself to the depot. Be sure to get a free ticket for the bus otherwise you will not be allowed to go to the depots.
Cheers, Michel

some correction is in place:

this is the deal:

you can just get on the PENDELbus next to the restaurant without ticket,

you do need a tikcet for the TOUR-bus, (one hour drive over the airbase)

look for the sign in the bus window before boarding.

have fun enzo.

On the last Saturday the 14th of April, I saw after a look of the storage of the MLM some F-104G's, a F-84F and a NF-5A behind the Techniek and Logistiek Museum at the Zeisterspoor.

The serials were:
F-104G D-8300
F-104G '5805' D-8338
F-104G D-8098
F-84F P-171
NF-5A K-3029

It is a real airframe. It was originally a civil Bo105D, registered G-AZTI of Bond Helicopters, operated for a while on behalf of Cornwall Air Ambulance. It was obtained by the KLu for training purposes somewhere in the early nineties. It never flew with the KLu. Its c/n is S-34 (S-116 was on a plate in the frame but that's not the frame's identity, so possibly the c/n of that particular part). The other side of the airframe is -to the best of my knowledge- preserved in the Traditiekamer at Gilze-Rijen Airbase.

See the pictures at:

http://www.abpic.co.uk/search.php?q=G-AZTI&u=reg

and one final edit: it was de-registered in the UK in 1993 as "permanently withdrawn from use":
