Request for a research
Hey folks,
I'm currently getting trained (in the military) as an aircraft mechanic and we have a few planes on our base and I would like to know where these planes were stationed before but can't really find something on the net.
It's a Starfighter numbered: 20+46
A Alpha Jet numbered: 46+20
And a Huey numbered: 73+14
Maybe some of you know something about these birds
Regards

There is no Alpha Jet with serial 46+20. Do you mean at Tornado or has the Alpha Jet been given a new serial?FlaRak wrote:A Alpha Jet numbered: 46+20

you just bet me... what would live be without search engines...
Present location of the starfighter http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6652956&nseq=11 would be Gross-Siegharts, Austria ??

Oh sorry the aircrafts are inside a maintenance Hangar at PFW Speyer except for the Starfighter. The Alpha Jets serial is written correct which is pretty wierd....

Take a look at the vertical stabilizer, maybe the CN is still painted there. Otherwise look into the cockpit. Sometimes you find the real serial written somewhereFlaRak wrote:The Alpha Jets serial is written correct which is pretty wierd....

Re: Request for a research
According to the picture in the link below, the Alpha Jet is 40+26, and that IS a correct serial...
http://www.lvu.de/news/single/d/2011/04 ... realitaet/
...and according to the next link, this A-Jet was in the Gatow museum in 2007...
http://www.planespotting.nl/newphotos/Gatow/40+26.JPG
...with last pictures there on airliners net dating from november, 2008. Scramble database has it last noted there in February, 2009. Does anyone know if it is still there or did it actually move to Speyer?

Re: Request for a research
If the Alpha Jet is the genuine 40+26, then this is the major part of its history:
Dornier built
TGp31/ATV
JBG49 (apr80/feb82)
JBG41 (jun82/jul92)
stored Fürstenfeldbruck (18jan94/jun95)
stored Berlin-Gatow (aug96/mar98)
pres museum Berlin-Gatow (dec99/feb09) outside

Re: Request for a research
FlaRak, you're welcome; Thank you for adding to common knowledge of the history of these airframes (and to the Sctramble database!). Just for completeness' sake: could you please confirm the number on the tail of the Alpha, beneath the German flag (if that is still there, of course, it tends to be removed from instructional airframes every now and then...)? Much appreciated!

At 2008 in Berlin it was "Luftwaffe-Alpha Jet-0026" on the right sidefrank kramer wrote:Just for completeness' sake: could you please confirm the number on the tail of the Alpha, beneath the German flag (if that is still there, of course, it tends to be removed from instructional airframes every now and then...)

Re: Request for a research
Hey Scramblers,
I sadly couldn't find a serial on the vertical stab. But the instructors told me that this is the Alpha Jet from Berlin Gatow. They took it apart and moved it to Speyer with trucks.
