Hi there,
I am planning a 4 day trip in May and want to spend a day each at Sheremetyvo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo Airports.
I am thinking of hiring a car as I believe it is difficult to travel around to the different spots for photos especially at Domodedovo.
Does anyone know if there are places to park car at these airports around the perimeter ?
Has anyone been on a ramp tour of any of the airports ? If so, how long are you allowed on the ramp ? All day ? Is it suitable for photography where the sun is at right angle etc ?
Many thanks for help with this.
Gary

The best thing is to read "Mig on a stick tour"in Scramble 390. Here is all the info you need. Public transportation is well organised in Moscow. All the airports are connected with the Aeroexpress train to the city of Moscow. The city has a very good and fast metro. And there is always the microbus near every metrostation to the airport. It is very cheap. Look at the Scramble airfield guide on this site for Domodedovo. A couple of spots alongside the runway can't be reached by car. You have to walk. Sheremetyevo spots can be reached by bus from the airport (850 for 25L/R and 851 for 07L/R). Very easy. Vnukovo depends but you have to read Scramble 390. Moscow roads can be a real traffic jam when you hire a car but maybe it is the best to travel early in the mornig or late in the evening by car. For more information you can always mail a Russian spotter (airliners.net or Jetphotos).
