Re: Please rate the result
Hi Kier,
I "removed" the outer parts of the wing, as I did want to see the result in cropping and editing in this for myself new editing program.
The photos are btw made with a EOS 1d MkII and a Canon 70-200 L 2.8 lens with a 1.4 extender for the ones who want to know.

If you check the histogram of the first image, you will see that the graph isn't touching the left side edge. This means that black in your image isn't black on the screen, so you need to improve the contrast. You can do that by using the Blacks slider, the Contrast slider or the Tone Curve (they will have different names if your language is set to Dutch).
I also think there's too much of a blue tint in your image. I would try to change the White Balance or desaturate the blues slightly (in the HSL panel).

Hello Chris,
I used the noise function in Lightroom, but am still not 100% satisfied with the results.

Re: Please rate the result
Hi Maarten, would you mind uploading the RAW-file? It's hard to determine what I would have done different. If I look for comments, my first thought was that it looks a little bit soft (or is it because I don't have my glasses on).
The main question is: Are YOU happy with the result ??
Cheers,
Iwan

Hi,
Nice photo, nice angle!
I agree that the first image looks a little soft, probably due to removing some noise. My experience is that you also lose some sharpness when you do so.

One tip about lightroom from my side (appart from move all the sliders around till you like it )DJdeRidder wrote:If you check the histogram of the first image, you will see that the graph isn't touching the left side edge. Hold down ALT (or Mac's equivalent) Key when using the blacks slider, when the first part of the image reach full black they will be shown.
At that point you black point theoretically is set correctly, same goes for exposure.

[off topic] wouldn't it be an idea if every week or so someone uploads a raw file we all edit it and learn from each others edits?

Why not give it a try: http://forum.scramble.nl/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=81210
Re: Please rate the result
Thanks for the tips, some where already known, some not. However I like the program, I am not really satisfied with the results yet. I will post the original RAW files tomorrow, as I will not be able to do so at the moment.

Maarten, my first impression for both is 'very nice'. They look like good, natural replications of action in mediocre to fair light conditions. I like it when the photo enables you to 'be there'.
