Hi all,
The December 2011 issue of Scramble has been released this week!
This month's edition features specials about:
- USMLM - Spotting for real
Most of us have aircraft spotting as a hobby. Some quite intense, but in the end always as a way to have some fun and
make the best of your free time. What many people do not know, is that during the Cold War there were professional
spotters operating in East-Germany. These people were assigned to the so called Military Liaison Missions that were
set up shortly after World War II. In this article, printed with great help of Hugo Mambour, we will explain a bit on these
missions.
- B29 Superfortress survivors
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress (Boeing Model 341/345) was a four-engine heavy bomber flown by the United States Army
Air Force. With its weight of almost 60 tons, the B-29 was one of the largest aircraft to see active service during World War II.
Gert Jan Mentink reports on those that survived until today.
- Picture writing
This time the story on a Japan Airlines DC-8 which landed in the San Francisco Bay back in November 1968.
- Triptease & Showreport specials
Including the BIAF 2011 in Bulgaria, Thunder over Dubai and the Forth Worth Alliance air show.
And so much more!
Our monthly returning topics:
- Movements and trips Netherlands, Belgium + Rest of the World, civil and military.
- The latest news, both civil and military.
- Updates on the world's aircraft fleets, civil and military.
- Aircraft mishaps in Dustpan and Brush.
- Wrecks & Relics.
- Warbirds.
- Scramble Intelligence Service.
- Triptease
- Showreports

Re: SCramble 391 is out now!
Rob.
