Missed the Kuwaiti C130 due to work, and the Chilean C130 stopped short so lucked out on that aswell. It was down to the RAF to save my lunch break

Is that runway turn-off level at all ? I see very noticeable height differences between both the right and left external tanks, and the undercarriage doesn't seem to be straight as well...graham77 wrote:

Thanks for the comments, I agree the images could do with a little rotation in photoshop, but in my defence, anyone who has been to Brize will tell you the runway is not level and especially not the above taxiway!

In earnest Graham, I think the picture is actually level. It is clear the left side of the Herc is leaning, but look at the main gear struts. Very clearly the left one is much smaller than the right one. Also the left tire is much more bulged than the right one.
Which means the aircraft is leaning towards the left (for us that is).
So is it 100% level, I am not sure. But it certainly is not that bad. In any case it is a picture which makes me ask questions, which I think is always a good thing!

Hope the apron is, otherwise loading/unloading could become quite interesting...

In the first pic, it seems there is a little tree or straw growing from the tarmac right in front of the herc. I guess that one is growing more or less straight; it could be used as a reference for the levelling of the pic. I only edit my pictures in Lightroom, such vertical lines can be used very easily with the grid tool for straightening.So is it 100% level, I am not sure.

I have noticed that all C-130 lean a little to the left. I'm not sure why but i think the torque of the engine could have something to do with it.
