Groningen/Eelde 05-09-2011 -- First B777 visit ever!
Some very very nice blue metal came our way today, the first ever visit of a Boeing 777! Some pics and a video below:
It wasn't as busy as I had expected
On short final for runway 23
Flaring above the runway
Pulling up again
Plus a short video we made of the whole thing! How low can you go

They were rather close to having to pay landing fees...

Anybody got an idea why it was flying around with gear doors open, indicates that alternate gear extension was used to lower the gear.
What goes up..........Must come down for maintenance

Correct, it was one of the test procedures they had to do.Melmac wrote:Anybody got an idea why it was flying around with gear doors open, indicates that alternate gear extension was used to lower the gear.

Didn´t know KLM was doing HMV on T7. I thought it was done by AF. As far as I know, no HMV will be done at AMS anymore, C-checks only.
Re: Groningen/Eelde 05-09-2011 -- First B777 visit ever!
BQA was in for a C-check. She will be released to service this morning. After that, the BQB will go to H14 for a C-check, which is currently planned until October 1st.

Not true!United 777 wrote:The first B777 flyby ever
This was the first approach of a B777 at Eelde. On the 1st of january 2009 PH-BQO did a low over (together with B738 PH-BXA's first flight in retro c/s).
You have to believe me when I write that this is the BXO over Eelde on 01-01-2009, cause you can't see any landmarks in the picture

Maybe a technical specialist can/will correct me, but to my belief B777 aircraft do not require any heavier maintenance than C-checks!JS50557 wrote:Didn´t know KLM was doing HMV on T7. I thought it was done by AF. As far as I know, no HMV will be done at AMS anymore, C-checks only.

a) It is clearly PH-BQO!
b) It is clearly a B777-200 and not a B737-900!
