good evening dear aircraftenthousiasts,
As I mentioned in the subject i am interested in the crash which happened on Augsut 22nd 1973 at around 11.20hs in the Lauwersmeer area in the Northern part of the Netherlands. The crewmembers 1lt RD Alley and Capt. GDA Crawley ejected safely. I am trying to make a little book on this event. And received some interesting eywitness reports from civilians working in the neighbourhood. Even I am in the possession of some very nice black/white pictures shortly taken after the crash.
The items I am looking for are pictures of that RF-4C from 1TRS. (I have already some but more are welcome) and maybe you people know adresses in the States I can refer in my effort to search for the main actors in this event, Alley and Crawley. Until now many attempts were unsuccessfull.

Info Martin-Baker ejection seat factory
For my project on the crashed RF-4 in 1973 I am looking for info concerning the Martin Baker factory. It seems that every pilot who ejects safely from a seat from MB gets a tie, sort of citation and a certificate plus a honourable mention in a sort of Hall of Fame. Contacts with MB has given no results until now. Maybe somebody can help me in finding my RF-4 crew in this Hall of Fame.
Many thanks for answering.

Re: Info Martin-Baker ejection seat factory
Better give some more info about the crash; RF-4 in 1973 isn't much data to start with...
So; which airforce, place of crash, exact date, ... ?

Took the liberty of merging both posts on this subject.

Re: Crash RF-4C /sn 66-0426AR 22-08-1973, Lauwersmeer area,
Hi...
He also writes it is a RF-4 from 1 TRS. So that must be USAFE because, as far as I know, in '73 the Germans didn't fly Phantoms (yet).
That info must be enough because in those days the RF-4's did not crash at a daily base in the northern part of our country....
I live in the southern part of the Netherlands and until this post, didn't know about this crash but I'm sure there are people that know more...
Grtz.

If you read his first post, he gives an exact date and time as well as the aerea where the event took place.Stef V wrote:Better give some more info about the crash; RF-4 in 1973 isn't much data to start with...

That is only because I merged the two topics. There was no further info in doubleugly second thread on this subject.
