This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

I was also at AMS for a nice sunrise. Since the forecast was bad, I just gave it a try. I was out there to suprise the girlfriend of my little brother.
I also met Tyno (from Holland). We where at the same point at the polderbaan. So some fewer pictures than normal.

Re: Amsterdam EHAM 12-08-2011
Ok, here a few shots of last Friday. Tested the 7D with the 400mm 5.6 and a few shots with a 20-35mm 2.8 The 3200 ISO shots surprised me although i do not think it is very usefull.
@ Menno, hope i can go more often, but we will have to see...
1.
2. Only the left wingtip is sharp
3. 3 ship..
4.
5.
6.
7. Arty edit
8.
9.
10. Super twinkle
11.
12.
13. 1/50 panning shot, non IS 400mm, backlit, just handheld
14. 20-35mm 2.8 lens used here
15. The 3200 ISO shot, i think it sucks ;-/ Haven't shot a lot at night so i think this could be far better... What do you guys think?
Feel free to comment please..

Re: Amsterdam EHAM 12-08-2011
TY, preciate it...
Now I have a question which I can't seem to figure out. I shot all these in S-Raw so that means 10mpx Raw files instead of 18.x. Does the noise show up faster now because I'm not shooting full reso? My answer would be yes, I have the same picture covering the same amount of frame, only less pix so I see it turn up more than with the full reso used. Is this correct?
So, I should only shoot full RAW to have more quality? Who can throw some light on this..

Well, as far as my knowledge goes (and i have to be carefull now, cause you really have loads of knowledge considering PP), i say yes, S RAW will not give you the full amount of "space" compared to a full size RAW file, but i might be totally wrong here, so please correct me if i'm wrong....Andras wrote:TY, preciate it...

Hahaha, that's too much credit, dunno if it's true so correcting you is impossible without the knowingwild weasel wrote:Well, as far as my knowledge goes (and i have to be carefull now, cause you really have loads of knowledge considering PP), i say yes, S RAW will not give you the full amount of "space" compared to a full size RAW file, but i might be totally wrong here, so please correct me if i'm wrong....Andras wrote:TY, preciate it...

But, my guess is leaning towards your answer too.. I thought about it the last few days and I have to test it out, so Friday evening will be test evening again.
