During 2001 they operated from their own base.
I think you can skip Gazimier, as its a helicoper base , and tghe runway is to short.
Kaklic also not I think.

On what is that based?falcon wrote:hi Ronald,
i think Adnan-Cazimir and Kaklic will be used!,
In 2001 we had flybys from only F-4s, F-5s and F-16s and they where NOT flying from Kaklic and Gaziemir.
As said, Gaziemir is a small army base which is not suitable for fighters. The flightline of Kaklic will probably be filled with T-37s and T-38s from Cigli.
Regards Rob.

I am quite sure that the fighters operated from Balikesir, Bandirma and Eskisehir in 2001. So all from their home base with the exception of the Konya F-5s which operated out of Balikesir.falcon wrote:hi Ronald,

The only activities at Kaklic during the show were two special forces Black Hawks and some C-130s, probably bringing in some guests or something. Kaklic also housed about a dozen T-37s for the duration of the show.

Slovakia has cancelled participation. It was not a mistake.

Personally I am quite excited with the list as shown yet. I look forward to a few days with nice weather, nice company and loads of new planes and even a few new aircarft types.Kieran wrote:Hmm, sorry if I come across as a bit 'ungrateful' here.....
Thoughts?
Beforehand praise to the organisers .
The fact that the TuAF is considering / allowing spotters on their field is a giant leap toward (european) unification I would say...
For me... I could do without TB/ PdF / Frecce / PA, and look forward to heaps of local trainers, Sherdils, YF17, IAR99, KT1. If they add a wedgetail: fine, but I am satisfied without as well.

1st display team to get the chop seems to be the Sherdils.
So with the Cx so far that should leave room for alot of the Turkish flypast fighters

Well, I've just spoken to a fellow who said that AS-532AL Cougar is the next addition to the group of participants from the Bulgarian Air Force.
I'll give you more info in the next several days.

a pitty the sherdills are of the list. but if they put some Bulgarian en Turkish aircraft in there place. I would find that a nice compensation.

As for now still no Bulgian aircraft on the official list.
So I'm still not sure they will come to Izmir.
Best regards Rob.
