Hi...

Again a day with activity at the slopes and around the base.
Cougars, Chinooks and Apaches left the field and, of course, returned.
Some of them hooped over to the slopes, like the Q-18, S-440 and S-456. Those two cougars came together, a very impressive sight!
Here are some pics, hope you like them.

Grtz.

Two Cougars is indeed a unique moment. Nice capture.
Yorick, very special guest. Was it there for a fuelstop?

It is still there, and I think it will be there till tomorrow at least, because there are gliders and balloons in the CTR right now... but the C-37 is refueled immediately after the landing so if it's going to depart, it will be gone very fast

I don't know the reason voor it's visit but I think it's an emergency landing because it came in on RWY 28, and all the other traffic flew on RWY 10 today

Nice pics!

But, pay attention using the shadow/highlights-tool in PhotoShop, you've got quite some "halo's" around some
choppers.

Cheers!

Don't know what you mean by "HALO's". On my monitor the pics are perfect, no halo's at all. BTW, I don't use PhotoShop, I edit my pics with Nikon Capture NX v2.2.6.

Obviously, the halo's are clearly visible on my screen as well. Unless your monitor has been calibrated, I am actually quite sure that you should see the white glow around the dark surfaces in your pictures as well..
I have seen this problem for a couple of times before and I still haven't got any clue what it can be. In Lightroom there is a tool called 'presence' which can be used to brighten 'dark' glows and to darken the 'white' glows. Perhaps, as it could be an issue with your lens, you could upload an original picture (either via P.M. or to this forum) so that we can see if the halo's are already there..

Hi Boudewijn...

I could send a P.M. but my original files are too big to send (Nikon *.NEF files, between 16 and 24 MB each), they exceed the limit of my e-mail account.
I've been looking again to my pics and at first sight I don't see the halo but if I keep looking, they slowly appear, hardly visible. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks with my mind, I don't know but if I look at the pics in "full 100% view", there's no halo visible at all!!!
There's no issue with my lens, I'm sure of that, I recently had it checked by Nikon.
My workflow when editing in Nikon Capture NX 2.2.6: I change the white balance to daylight, add a little under- and/or over-exposure (not more that -0,5 to +0,5) and add some contast, that's all. When that's done I add a very little amount of sharpening with "unsharp mask".

Grtz.

When did thet went to the slopes??? I stayed until 15h at the spottersplace and returned home because there was no flying-activity more at the base. I saw the 2 Apache's returning and the 2 Cougars, but they did a full stop.
