Yes there is.. Take a Dolmus (minibus) or a big bus from the otogarage (busstation) to the city/village Menemen. This will take you to Cigli. Ask the driver to stop for the village Sasalli/Air Base..

Enjoy,
Paul.

Thanks a lot.
However I found several "otogar" in Izmir. Can you indicate which one is right? Cami? Izotas? Uçkuyular?

Cami (Local) and Izotas is for the long distance busses.. You can use both. Just ask a at the Turist bureau that are on the terminals. It's easy to take public transport in Turkey :bthumb:

Thanks for the update!

I have one question if I may. Suppose you don't get a spotter's pack, will you be allowed to stay outside the base on Friday and Monday?

Thanks in advance.

As you people always hunt for the most attractive picture, I could even advise you ( especially the approaches from the south ) to do a little survey of the area: the angle outside could give you a better result and - at this stage - the organisation has planned to allow outside spotting as well during the Izmir week. In other periods you can get arrested

Does somebody knows already something more about Izmir Harbour on the 5th of June and about the flypast (when, what time and maybe where to stand)?

Regards,

Michiel

Hi Michiel,

As far as I know there will not be a show at the harbour anymore. On page 1 you can read updated information of the international show being held both days at Izmir
The displays will be at the 2nd Main Jet Base Command (Çiğli / Izmir) both on 04th and 05th of June
The website also doesn't mention the harbour.

Cheers,

Hi,

Is there any reason to adopt that the Siria conflict will have some influence on the celebrations on 4th and 5th June on Izmir airbase?

As we take a look on the news networks we see that the conflict will get worse these days......Libia kind.....

admin: correct me if this is the wrong topic for this reply....

Just wondering whether any members have a spare seat to get to the showground? Otherwise, I'll just get the shuttle bus from Izmir central! :)

Re: Izmir 4-5 June - General information- Car Pooling Kusadasi

Post by bunt »

Hello,

Is anyone staying near Kusadasi and interested in Car Pooling? It is my intention to visit both spotterdays and (at least) the first day of the airshow. Not sure if I will stay the night over in/near Izmir on the Friday. Send me a PM if interested
