Off-Airport Antwerp Harbour 19/01/2011
Today at my work (quay 712 in Antwerp harbour) I saw two red-white Mil Mi-14 on flat containers without tail and rotors. The only thing I could see on them was inscription of the company Aerotec International on the fuselage next to the cockpit. After some internet research I found that there are/were 4 Mi-14 like this with registration S9-TAF,TAG,TAI and TAJ. Does some one knows wich two I saw? Hope to return there tomorrow with camera! They where possible to picture through a gate.
Felle.

On this site:
http://www.skybird-ev.de/central/rothen ... urg-d.html
you can see a picture of S9-TAI in bare metal, in contrary to S9-TAF in rd/wh c/s. Both were taken some time ago though, so it could be that TAI did get the same c/s as well since.
If you do find out the registrations, and/or where they are heading, I'm sure many people would be interested

Well, the Mi-8 has it inside a small door on the left hand side of the fuselage. Don't know about the Mi-14, but since they are very related designs it COULD be on the same place?
I hope you are successfull, but since Felle was talking abuot photographing them through a gate I'm afraid it will be difficult to get close enough to actually touch them...

The S9-TAF is one of them. I indentified this one yesterday deu to the name "Pato II" near the front landing gear.
The second one is S9-TAJ. I indentified this one yesterday deu to the name "Pato" near the front landing gear and the name "Eliminator III" on the fuselage near the back landing gear.

Hoi Pieter, S9-TAJ is correct but the other is S9-TAG due to his nickname "Pato III" and not II. Today I talked with a guy that works there and he said they arrived some days ago from the USA but he don't know the destination. I can believe him as I discovered that both were used for fire fighting purposes in California. And based at Sacramento Mather AFB.

Felle,
After checking my photo's on my PC at home I have to say you are right. It is "PATO III" instead of "PATO II".
That indead makes it to be S9-TAG.
I think their destination will be the Aerotec company at Rothenburg/Oberlausitz (EDBR) in Germany.
Hopefully the other 2 (S9-TAI and S9-TAJ) Aerotec Mil M-14BT's are coming back to Europe soon
Thanks for the heads up Felle.

S9-TAI en S9-TAF should still?? be in Germany. And indeed I also guess that TAG and TAJ are returning back to Aerotech.
