New Boeing 787 delays imminent?

Post by ehusmann »

First delivery of the B787 should take place in February, when the first plane is delivered to ANA. But.... problems encountered during flighttesting seem to be so severe, that new delays might be announced. According to Flightblogger it is very unlikely that the first delivery in February will be made (which is already almost 3 years behind schedule). First delivery could be pushed back as far as early 2012!
Before anyone says ´this is just a rumour´, remember that all delay announcements started as rumours on flightblogger, but turned out to be true shortly afterwards.

I wonder if we will ever see 100 B787 coming of the line per year, as Boeing once planned.....

Boeing has now confirmed there will be yet another delay for th B787 delivery. It will still takes ´several weeks´ before the new delivery schedule is ready. That means we are not looking at a very short delay, but significant. As far as I know the test flights have all been halted since the fire in early November (but please correct me if I am wrong in this).
