Global Air B732 Incident Puerto Vallerta

Post by flying_kiwi »

Global Air B737-200 XA-UHY made an emergency landing in Puerto Vallerta after it's nose gear failed to deploy.
Security camera footage provides a good view of the approach, landing, and response by the emergency services:

Interesting video; strange to notice that there hasn't been worked on a foam blanket on the runway by the firebrigade to keep the friction as low as possible (but thats just my remark)?

That it's done anymore I believe.
The exact reasons why I'm not sure of, but I suspect that the amount of foam needed would mean they wouldn't have any left, plus as you say the friction would be very low, which could make it difficult to remain on the runway.
