PHOTO : PK-LIQ past runway 33

A Lionair Boeing 737-400, registration PK-LIQ performing flight JT-712 from Jakarta to Pontianak (Indonesia) with 167 passengers and 7 crew, overran runway 33 at approximately 11:20L (04:20Z) while landing in Pontianak.

The airplane came to a stop just past the runway overrun area on its belly, the gear struts possibly in ditches or collapsed. All people evacuated, a few minor injuries occurred.

The airport was closed for at least 4 hours.

Indonesia's NTSC reported, that it is unclear at this time whether the gear collapsed,

the NTSC is currently treating the occurrence as a serious incident (editorial note: indicating no structural damage and no serious injuries, the gear struts may actually be sunk into ditches past the runway safety area).
3 investigators have been dispatched to Pontianak.
