Something I haven't seen reported here yet is the recent removal of preserved D-8266 from Texel.
I heard about this from a colleague, who read about it in his local paper. According to him it was mentioned to be going to the UK. However, I also heard the rumour it went to Soesterberg for storage. Anyone who knows which is correct?

And according to a local paper found on the internet the reason for the removal is the bad condition of the aircraft. Apparently the peolpe from the museum were afraid it was going to end up on its belly due to corrosion in the landing gear.

Stands in hangar 3 on Soesterberg.

The F-104 was dismantled on September 21 and 22 and transported to Soesterberg September 27th.
