This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

The retirement of the Alouette III was accelerated because of the "Pakistan donation".[2] Looks like the days of the sturdy ALIII are finaly over...

I've seen six year olds and sixty+ year olds climb that mountain with ease. There's no excuse for not going up there! You will not regrett it.sp00k wrote:Great shots,

There were ten "flyers" last September, one got picked up by a Pakistani AF Hercules a week or two ago...

It's true not all pictures are razor sharp. I think it that have a few reasons. First of all 1/800 seconds is just on the edge of good shutter speeds to have 99% sharp. the 2nd and much more important reason is the lens. The HSM (HyperSonicMotor) of you lens (150-500) is not so fast and you are often (a bit) out of focus. Most helicopter shots are sharp (the are not so fast). Since you are often at F/8 the sharpness of you lens isn't a problem. If you try to have rotor blur don;t go to f/16 but go to iso100. Sharpness will become worse at higher f-number than f/13 often (due diffraction).
Another major point is try to do (more) Photoshop. The horizon isn't a problem but a little bit more sharpness and contrast are. I did a bit photoshopping on your best (,in my opinion,)picture. I did a little bit oversharped the picture to get it sharp but now I think the picture is awesome!
