Spottersplekken tijdens Tiger Meet.

Post by camel1 »

Groeten,
Stefan

The information on spotting locations (and, more importanty, parking locations!) is now available for runway 06R/L (easterly winds) at www.tigermeet.eu ("follow me" section). Undoubtedly, the 24-side will be added soon. Looking good. Keep up the good work guys! :respect:

Everybody who also spends a (part of the) day outside the base, take a look at http://www.tigermeet.eu/index.php?optio ... 29&lang=en for the current situation regarding the driving directions, available parkings and most important the spots you can use. If you use the information provided, there will be no problems with the police or the farmers.

This message concerns also the people who are familiar with the normal situation at Volkel!

Short translation of the Dutch message mentioned above on http://www.tigermeet.eu concerning parking at the KCU (Kynologen Club Uden) near the 06 end of the runway (west side of the field, or "easterly winds" if you prefer that): on day 1 of operations, monday october 4, 2010, the situated became somewhat chaotic over there and one of the volunteers of the KCU was verbally abused. That is definitely NOT the way to go! The parking spot there can hold up to 200 cars if people park sensibly, but much less if they don't. Full=full, however, and if you park your cars elsewhere in the no-parking zone you are liable to be fined (or towed!). So, in the interest of all, behave normally. Also, as a result of this, the RNethAF now has taken on responsibility for opening and closing the gates. Gates open from 07.00 local time and will be closed by 17.00 lt. So, you CANNOT enter before 07.00 and have to leave BEFORE 17.00 !
Finally, volunteers of the club MAY be present before or after these times but they are under NO obligation to let you in earlier or out later! Remember, it is through their good will only that this parking location is available FOR FREE. If there are to be more incidents, odds are that the location will be closed or that a parking fee will be introduced. The RNethAF is monitoring the situation closely and will act immediately if the need arises. Let's all work together to prevent this from happening.

On a brighter note, the volunteers of the club will be present from 08.00 till 17.00 and have a variety of drinks and light snacks available for sale to those interested! Also, toilet facilities are available. They are free for those purchasing refreshment(s); for all others costs are a mere € 0.30 (thirty cents!)

Let's ALL have fun

edit: in the meantime, T-O has added my translation to the Tigermeet website. Happy to have been able to help!

Compliments for the way they provided (safe) spotting- and parking opportunities around the base ! Good to see such a good co-operation between the airforce, local authorities and Spotting Group Volkel. By making (and following) clear rules things can be controlled and will not result in unsafe or unacceptable situations. :respect:

I thing a 'Big thank you' to the Kynologenclub Uden is alo inplace for opening their parkingspace and club facilities. :toppie:

Unfortunatly yesterday there were several people parking outside the approved areas. I have to say most of them were not spotters, but locals and tourists refusing to pay € 5,- to the farmer that opened his field... Even the exit of the crashgate at the east side was blocked. Explaining the risks to them was not helpfull. In the end the police were forced to write several parkingtickets. For once I couln't agree more.

I enjoyed my day at the fence yesterday and hope that may others will be allowed to have the same experience in the weeks. So please follow the rules or explain them to those who are 'not aware' of them :please!:
Kind Regards,

Andries
